Job Description



  • Start the day with a quick team discussion and review emails and vessel loading/discharge status.


  • Process customer orders in SAP and handle related documentation and invoices.


  • Ensure timely preparation of shipment paperwork (transport, customs, inspections).


  • Manage inbound/outbound shipments, warehouse inventories, and logistics flows.


  • Coordinate regularly with carriers and logistics partners and provide shipping instructions.


  • Handle customer complaints, offer timely solutions, and ensure satisfaction.


  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams on freight rates and service expectations.


  • Collaborate with Sales/Commercial teams to align logistics with schedules and customer needs.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Shipping Assistant should have:

    • A bachelor's degree ideally Shipping and Logistics oriented
    • First experience in logistics
    • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strength in excel (pivot tables, graphs, charts)
    • You are fluent in French / English and Dutch and any additional language will be a plus
    • You are a team player but also able to work independently
    • You are motivated, dynamic and able to work in fast-paced environments
    • You have good computer skills with strong experience in the Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of SAP will be a plus
    • You have great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
    • You are excellent in communication & organization
