Job Description

As an import officer you'll be the first point of contact in the importing process, and liaise with buyers, vendors, and banks to assure that proper documentation is filled out for the successful customs clearance and delivery of merchandise to the warehouse.


  • handling import requests for customers
  • entering and handling shipments
  • providing a representative agreement for new customers
  • reporting irregularities to the manager
  • gathering of all mandatory documents and information to handle an import shipment
  • identify and report quality problems to the manager
  • giving updates to customers regarding their shipment
  • communicate with carriers about collection and delivery of shipments
  • Informing and advising customers about the formalities for international goods traffic (legal provisions, taxes, guarantees, ...)
  • after sales

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for an Import Officer that :

  • speaks English very well and Dutch or French as well
  • already has some experience in import air- or seafreight
  • has good communication skills
  • can work autonomously, rigorous is customer-oriented
